Frequently Asked Questions

Do I purchase my invitations from The Guest Book?

No, we do not sell invitations. You may purchase these wherever you choose. When printing them, however, please ensure that our 1-800 number, your extension number, and/or our website is printed on the invitations. Please see our sample invitation page for examples.

What format should my guest list be in?

Please provide us with a typewritten list that is alphabetized by last name.  If your list has been created on the computer, forwarding it to us as an email attachment works well.

What is the Cost and Procedure to have my webpage created?

The development and hosting of your personal webpage is included as part of your registration fee. There is no additional charge.

We will contact you to obtain the information that we will need to create your webpage. If you would like to include a picture, you may forward a scanned copy to us through email, or you may send it to us through the mail and we will scan it for you.

Are you able to gather any additional information for me, such as meal choices or children's count?

Yes, we would be happy to assist you with gathering this information.  There is no additional charge for this service. Just let us know what your needs are and we will do our best to assist you. When your guests respond, they can also receive additional information, such as your gift registry, hotel accommodations, where to mail gifts, etc.

How will I receive updates?

If your list has been sent to us by computer, we will use the information to create a spreadsheet in which we will record your guest responses.  We strive to make this a nice-looking document that you may choose to save as a memory of your special event.

We will forward updates to you on a regular basis, or if you prefer, we can provide a direct link for you to see your guest list online.  You may view your spreadsheet as often as you wish, to see how everything is coming along.

If we do not have your list on the computer, we will provide updates through another method; i.e. telephone, email, fax, mail, etc.

What if I need to add or delete names from my guest list after I have already submitted it?

If you need to make changes to your guest list, just email or phone us.  We will be happy to make any necessary changes.

What is your procedure for calling the guests that do not RSVP?

People today are very busy, and it is average that 50% of your guests will not respond by the RSVP date.  It is common for us to hear how happy the guests are when we call to obtain their confirmation or regret!

After your RSVP date, we will begin to contact those guests that have not responded.  We will make up to 3 attempts, if necessary, throughout the week.

Your final guest list will be available one week after your RSVP date, if not before.

Do guests like this method of responding to an event?

Yes!  We receive many comments from guests on how nice it is to respond in this manner. They appreciate that it saves them time and is so easy.

What happens if a guest responds for my event, but they are not on my guest list?

We will notify you if this happens. We will ask you if you would like us to add them to the list, or if you would like us to contact them.  If you tell us that they will be unable to attend, we can call and let them know this, as professionally as possible. We can explain that this is due to seating restrictions or any other reason that you provide for us.

The most common problem that many events encounter is that couples respond that they are bringing their children…even though the invitation was for the adults only. As before, we would be happy to contact them and remind them that due to seating restrictions (or other reasons), the children will, unfortunately, be unable to attend. As always, we will contact you before we make any of these contacts to your guests.

Guests are generally very friendly and understanding when this happens. Event planners have found it much more comfortable for us to contact their guests than for them to have to do this!
